Fun for the Parents

The Parents are John and Christy! We have done so many fun things together this summer. We went to the Beach Boys Concert in June. We danced and sang (maybe I should say I danced and sang) along. I calso called my parents to let them hear the music (and to make them a little jealous). It's amazing that after all these years they sounds just the same.

 We went to the Saratoga Race Track and got up right against the rail.

 We saw the most beautiful horses and had fun trying to decide who would win. We bet on one race and we won! We went home $7 richer!

 We went White Water River Rafting two days ago and had a blast! This was John's first time and he enjoyed it. We went down Level 3 rapids, jumped off a high rock into the water, swam around for a bit and got into a water fight with another boat. They supplied lunch and dinner for us so of course I was happy! Karina has all the pictures so once I get those from her I will add some of us on the river!

I love that John and I still find the time to be together without the girls. We treasure our alone time and it always makes us so happy that we have the sweetest/naughtiest little girls to go home to.

More Summer Fun

 Katie has discovered the joys of the bathroom. She loves to grab the toilet paper roll and run as well as splash in the toilet. I try to keep the bathroom doors closed as much as I can but Abby will leave them open. Oh well, she's just so dang cute!

 Abby loves to eat food and then go stand next to our growing chart and have me measure her to see how she has grown. She is getting so big!

 Katie likes to be a big girl and eat at Abby's little table. She is a very big eater!

 The girls love to sit with John and learn about Jesus. It so so cute how Abby will remember certain stories and pray that Jesus will come down from Heaven so she can touch his robe just like the woman who was sick. Katie now folds her arms whenever we pray. It is so sweet!

 We like to go swimming at Grandma Janes house. Abby loves Grandma Jane!

 We have a slip n slide and a kiddie pool that I put out back for the girls when we don't go to the pool. Katie loves to sit and grab at the water.

 Abby just loves to run along it and slide on her knees.

 Katie thinks she now owns Abby's little chair. She loves sitting it.

 These girls are best friends and love each other more than anyone else.

I took Abby to see Brave. We sat on the end by the aisle so she could get up if she needed which she did. We loved the movie and at lots of popcorn and candy.

 

Blueberry Picking

We went blueberry picking with Charisse and baby Ben! Abby and Katie absolutely loved it! Katie wouldn't stop each blueberries. She would pick them and if it was not ripe she would spit it out and eat a new one. She was hilarious! Abby dropped her carton of blueberries halfway through so we had to start all over. She was so sad but we got ice cream after so it was all worth it.

 

I made a delicious blueberry pie with half and froze the other half for another time. Thanks Aunt Charisse for coming with us and making this an extra fun day!

What have we been doing this summer?

We have had tea parties...

 Played dress up...

 Watched our favorite shows while being princesses...

 talked about our feeling...

 done some table dancing...

 saved each other from falling off said tables...

 learned to climb the stairs and yell for mom at the top (also fell down the stairs but was fine)...

 went to a childrens concert with free popcorn, cotton candy and snow cones.

 created an unhealthy addiction to snow cones...

 taken lots of baths to clean off from fun days like this...

and of course we went to the library and the bounce house! We have had such a fun summer! We've played with lots of friends and done the slip n slide and pool and I will post some pictures of that.

Hadlock Pond with the Standage Family

We had the wonderful opportunity to go to the Standage's (my sis-in-laws parents) lake house and have fun on their boat. The Stevensons and other friends were there as well. Katie and I went tubing and she wasn't scared at all. I actually think it almost put her to sleep. Abby went tubing 3 times and wanted to go faster each time. John and I wakeboarded and we all played on the shore. Here are LOTS of pictures from our Saturday there.

 

 Abby loved playing with all the girls and thought she was so big!

 Katie fell asleep on the boat in Denise's arms. Everyone just thought she was so delicious and couldn't stop playing with her on shore as well.

We had such a fun day and we are so thankful to have such good friends and family to surround us!
