John and I left the kids with Grandma and Grandpa VanDerwerken and went to San Juan, Puerto Rico from April 23-30. We had such a fun time! We used a disposable camera on our trip so they aren't that great and there are few. We stayed at the Stellaris Marriott right on the beach. We were in a touristy area so we felt safe enough walking around at night to see the sights and find different restaurants. Here is a picture from a park we walked by everyday.
The stretch of beach where we played everyday.
We had delicious Cuban food twice, Mexican food, Puerto Rican food, Italian food and one night got homesick for American food so we had Chili's. Here is a picture of our delicious Chocolate Mousse from the Italian restaurant.

John took runs along the beach everyday. He also went to the gym as well. I, of course, lounged on the beach chairs under our umbrella for hours on end.
We went snorkeling one day and saw lots of beautiful fish and corral reefs.
I got fresh coconut on the beach one day to try the fresh coconut milk. I think it is an acquired taste but it was fun to try.

Another day we went to Old San Juan and saw two forts while we were there. Castillo de San Cristobel and Castillo San Felipe Del Morro. There were a lot of shops and restaurants to go to and we enjoyed our day there. Here is a view from one of the forts.

We didn't even have to drag out our own chairs and umbrellas as Marriott employees took care of that for us.
We decided that was could definitely go back to Puerto Rico and have more fun there! We missed the kids but we Facetimed with them a bit and had a great relaxing week to ourselves!
