Grandma and Grandpa Quiggle Come to Visit!

Welcome to New York! Here is a picture of our house! 4 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath Colonial house.

I don't have any pictures of the inside but I do have these pictures from Katie's room. She has been moving up a storm lately. Here she is in her bed but obviously not where I put her in the wedge.
There is a beautiful mural in Katie's room. Here is a pictures of it!

Grandma and Grandpa Quiggle came to help us move in! They were amazing! Dad helped me paint Abby's room lavender while Mom watched Katie and Tina took Abby for the morning. Abby loves to have tea parties. Grandpa taught Abby "Cheers" and they clink glasses.

Abby thought Grandpa was hilarious!

Too bad I can't keep clothes on that girl!

Grandpa and Abby talked on the phone alot.

Of course Katie had to get in on the fun.

Grandma and Abby shopped and put lots of fun stuff in Abby's purse.

Katie LOVED Grandpa. She smiled and cooed for him. He even put her to sleep when no one else could.

The weather was beautiful while they were here so we went out in the backyard.

Abby loves the basement because she can ride her tricycle and car down there! I love it too but for storage purposes!

We took a walk on a trail by our house. Grandma and Abby picked lots of flowers!

Abby loves bubbles! Grandma and had to blow bubbles all afternoon!

We are enjoying life here so far! Ask me how I like it in January and the story might be a little different! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for all your help!!

Farewell Texas!

Two weeks before we moved from Texas, John's Grandpa VanDerwerken passed away. John flew out to New York for the funeral the weekend of the 16th while I stayed home with the girls. I just couldn't handle moving and flying to New York with the girls twice in one week. We had a dinner with the neighbors planned for that weekend so he missed out on our dinner. We love our neighbors! Richie and Sandi have been like Grandparents to Abby and they've helped us out with so many projects. Abby loved playing with Dan, Lori and Eli so we were so sad to leave them too! Here are some pictures from our last dinner with them.

Abby got a little wild, took off all her clothes and started playing the guitar. No one was surprised since she loves to run around naked!

A last photo of Katie snuggling in her swing a few days before the move.

John and I went to dinner with Coach Dabbs and Marguerite. Coach Dabbs has been so wonderful getting me UT sports tickets and being a great friend. We will miss them!

My friends (Leilani, Esther, Shek and Kellie) threw a party for us two nights before we left. The Bryson's hosted and lots of funs were invited. We had so much fun! Thank you so much my amazing friends for such a great time. We love and miss you!!

Abby ate lots of ice cream with Ella.

Jocelin and I were Activity Days leaders together. She is so much fun!

Glenn and John served together in the Young Men's Presidency. We also went Wakeboarding with him and his lovely wife, Heidi.
Esther and her family

Natalie, Shek and Sonya

There was a pinata and all the kids loved it!

Waiting for the candy...

Abby got to pull a string but hers didn't make the candy come.

Kellie drove us to the airport Sunday Morning, September 25th, 2011. I tried my hardest not to cry but of course I cried a little on the plane and while saying goodbye.

While I miss Texas and all our people, I know we are supposed to be here in New York. So, all our friends, come visit and play with us!
