Glenville Carnival

Our Ward had a fun carnival at the church building. There was face painting, fishing, angry birds, bowling, throwing pies at the Bishopric, coloring, and so much more! Abby had a crown painted on her forehead. She loved running around with all her little friends and playing all the fun games. There was also a room where you get dressed up and have your picture taken. Here are the ones we took that night!

Katie with Great Uncle James! She's a pioneer baby!

Grandma and Abby - don't you love her pretty crown?
A VanDerwerken Family Picture! We obviously didn't go crazy getting dressed up!

San Diego!

We went to San Diego from January 24-February 1st. We found Ding Fares for $200 per person roundtrip! The girls were wonderful for the flight. The First Day we were in San Diego it was 84 degrees.... so we went to the Beach!! Hardly anyone was there and we had the place to ourselves.
This is the first time Abby played in the sand! We were so proud of her. She walked in it and made castles. She even had to carry her flipflops just like us too. Katie loved the sand too. She kept crawling off the beach towel to eat sand. We ended up holding her most of the time.

Abby refused to touch the water it was so cold.
Katie loved seeing the waves and being out in the sun. She is going to be my beach girl!

John put Katies toes in the water and she quickly pulled her legs up. Way too cold for her!
The next day we swam in Grandpa's jacuzzi. Abby loved it but couldn't get her swim on as it was a little smaller than she's used to. Katie loved sitting in the sun with Grandpa.

Another day we met Stacy at Lake Poway to feed the ducks! Abby thought feeding the ducks was the best thing.

Of course Katie just sat back and chilled like normal.

After feeding the ducks, we played on the playground with cousins Gavin and Damon.

We also went to Poway Park and rode the train! Abby loved it and would say Choo Choo!

Katie loved to swing. As long as there was activity going on around her, she would stay in the swing for a long time.

San Diego Part 2

The girls loved playing in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard. There was a playhouse, swingset and pool.

There are also bikes at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Abby and Katie LOVED riding in them.
Abby thought running along side Dad was a good idea while Katie was riding. She did it for a long time!!!

Katie liked it the best for sure!
There was a big family party at Friday's house. Abby was so excited for her Princess Cake that Grandma got her.

Abby had so much fun with her cousins Gavin, Damon and Jocelyn.

On our last day, we went to help at the Bishops' Storehouse. We got the grand tour from Grandma (Sister) Quiggle!
Abby thought the big freezers were neat!
Abby loved stocking the shelves. She didn't want to stop. We finally had to drag her away.

One last stop at In N Out. Yum!!!

Fort!

Abby loves to make forts! We put two chairs together and lots of blankets and voila! A Fort! We include pillows and more blankets inside. We all love it! I had to include pictures of the static hair!
